Barnes and Noble edition of AAM

I pre-ordered this version before the CD was launched. Including postage etc it was even cheaper than what I would have paid in the stores here for the normal version at the time. (a bit, but still Smiler)

Unfortunately it took somewhat longer to arrive Frowner, but it was worth it.

Guess I'm also thinking of the multi-disc set, 'The Journey Begins' as well. I opted not to purchase it, having the first three CDs twice anyway, plus every other song included on the other discs in that set already, on other purchased CDs, except for the Spanish 'Dante's Prayer'.

Are special editions of Loreena's music available through any on-line sites or regular music stores in your part of Europe? I only ask, because it appears that Amsterdam in particular seems like a good place to find unusual versions of CDs! Or, so I've heard. Cool

Unfortunately not in the regular stores or any other store-address that I have.

I'm not in Amsterdam very often, while it is only half an hour by train. I don't know much good addresses for CD's either. But if you have some addresses I would be very much obliged. But I prefer The Hague (where I work), Rotterdam or Leiden (where I life and study).

I don't know much European internet CD-shops. But ordering from a shop in the US works just fine.

I recently bought a couple of CD's of Kate Price (great tip!) via affiliates of Amazon.com (you order through Amazon). That works pretty good. Just today a new 15-year out-of-print CD arrived in just 5 days after ordering through Amazon at a shop in the US (post stamp Phoenix AZ). "Belaich An' Dorain", Kate Price. I paid $40,- + postage for it, which makes it probably the most expensive (single disc) CD I ever bought. But it was worth every cent. Smiler

So my fear of internet ordering has been reduced very much.

I recently discovered cdbaby.com. They have a lot of CD's you won't find at Amazon. Mostly small labels. They also provide samples so you can listen to the CD's. I have not ordered there yet, but the site is not good if you want to shorten your wish list. Wink

Aren't there any? Or would they be 'imports' anyway, for North and South American artists? If there ARE some, and you could give me any addresses I could read in English, I'd order the very few I wanted that way, and just PAY the extra postage. So, I'd appreciate any tips! Big Grin

I know the big ones (amazon.co.uk, bol.com) but I don't know any for the special items. Might be because I found them at American stores anyway.

Whoa--that IS pricey! Hope you are enjoying it a lot! I can think of two or three CDs I wished to buy which are available as 'imports only', but I don't really want to pay the $37-$42 for each, just on the principle of the matter. Here, you purchase them from USA 'import shops' and they really rake you over the coals for lots of extra money, plus quite a bit of shipping and handling charges, even when the mailing distances are relatively close. Postage was 7,- and I only did it because it is very rare. Luckily the current rate dollar-euro is very good. (32,- euro all in) But still the most expensive single disc CD I bought. It was a gamble, I could not listen to samples. But I enjoyed her other CD's too much to let this change go by (like time between Mad for $12,0 (now used $67.65+)). It was a good choice and at the same store it is now $59.98+shipping Roll Eyes , so it was in time.

So far I'm not dissapointed, on the contrary. Big Grin

What are the CD's you are looking for?
Hi Celtickat!
I had to buy AAM with Raglan Road from B&N and NFTA from Loreena's concert. I have a hard time deciding with version I like better.
I listened to many versions of RR from other performers and I couldn't stand listening to the song for very long. Loreena puts such passion into her songs, that leaves all others flat.
As long as it's Loreena, I LOVE it!

I definitely agree that it's hard to listen to RR as performed by others after Loreena. There's just no comparison!
