Profile glitch

I'm not exactly sure. Do you have a custom avatar you want to use or are you trying to select one from the sets of avatars? If it is custom, send me the URL and I will see if I can change it for you.

Mark -

I don't like bothering you for something perhaps trivial as this, but I'm attempting to 'remove' my avatar.

When I click on the button 'no avatar', it disappears for a bit, but when I click on 'update', it re-appears.

I tried this last night about 3 times, saw the futility to it and thought, "Maybe it was meant for the candle to be there".

But try as I may, I just can't remove the avatar. It was just a simple gesture of not wanting an avatar under my name.

Mark, if it's too time consuming, let it go.
Take care.

Kind regards,
Shan

Mark, I'll just create another 'custom avatar', same as the blue background, so it will blend seamlessly. I'll just substitute the candle for a seamless background. That's one way of getting around it. Cool

Thank you.
Kind regards,
Shan

P.S. .... now a funny thought just hit me as I'm looking at your avatar, which is obviously 'custom made'. Now....if you really want to figure the "Case of the Stalking Avatar", try to remove your avatar and then put it back in.

That's where the glitch is. I can't remove the "Custom" avatar. I click on "no avatar". It goes away. Then when I click on 'update' (or whatever), it re-appears.

Gawd, I'm even being stalked by a Candle. ~Laughs ~

P.S.S. Too trivial for me at this hour. Wink
Well, here's what I did:
1. Added an avatar from the list by editing my public profile. Selected Old Glory, hit the "Select This One" on the avatar page, and hit "Submit" on the profile edit page. The avatar didn't show up until Mark posted my NEXT post.
2. Went back in, selected "No Avatar", hit the "Select This One" on the avatar page and hit "Submit" on the profile edit page. The avatar didn't disappear until Mark posted my NEXT post.
That worked selecting one of the canned avatars, but a custom one might be different. When Mark or Stacey post this post, Old Glory should re-appear because as I type this I have Old Glory pending.
Hope that helps...

Smiler...I was playing around with this last night and discovered the avatar will come or go based on some event like logging in/out, dumping the browser cache, reloading the page, or the moderators posting while you're logged in. It is a bit squirrelly but I wouldn't call it a glitch. When I reloaded the page, all your candles changed to Old Maple Leaf and I was going to post a reply: "OH CANADA!!!", but you beat me to it...
I should tell you my best Canada story. It's pretty much off any topic here but it's one Canadains everywhere can relate to...

By the way, there's a new development for the Shifting Music Industry thread...I'll get it up there as soon as my boss gets out of my office...

Let's switch flags and I'll share my best U.S. story... just for fun, I'd like to wear a different flag every day.
