Well, she did read mine too!
Some weeks ago I was searching for some celtic/irish singers, then I found the "Orthodox Celts" trought the song "The Star of the country down" (is the most popular on youtube) and I shared that link in all my pages (FB, Twitter, Orkut).
The song "As I Roved Out"
was the first irish music I listened some years ago (maybe 9 years), but the singer was Brian Roebuck - when I told my mother that Loreena had recorded that song she said: "oh I can't believe she recorded this song!!!" (My mother never liked this song I used to annoy her with it!)
But there's something, again with the Orthodox Celts, there's a song called "The wind that shakes the barley" too, that I love, especially the violin, but it's totally different than the one that Loreena sings.
And when I was searching for these celtic songs I found some songs that many irish/celtic singers sing: like the "Irish Rover" and I thought: "why Loreena doesn't sing some of these songs?" And so she did it now! But if you said to me: "Loreena recorded "The Star of the country down"" I probably wouldn't believe!
Ok, maybe it could happen with 15 different songs.. it all was just a coincidence!
The other songs are amazing of course, but I only knew these 2, I'm reading about the other songs now; I like to know the story behind the lyrics (I think everyone here likes to know ).
But I would to know why Loreena chose this or that song, deeply in her heart, in her mind, why do we have this selection? ♥
