Cannot wait! As a fan, I love this format of engaging the community and enriching the musical experience with Loreena’s backstories and an inside to the creative process. With her Facebook days coming to an end, I would love to see more of this in the future!

Cheers!

Nice idea! I would appreciate very much a downloadable version to listen to on  trainrides and the like ...

what a joy to preview these songs,  they are nourishment  for the soul, so moving,   I just adore loreenas music ,I have waited so long for this,  with deep gratitude, and blessings,  simply beautiful.      thank you for this podcast, ANAM CARA.  AT LAST THE SUN , THE MOON , AND THE STARS, DONT SEEM SO FAR AWAY.

Wow! I just listened to the podcast and this is pretty amazing yet inspiring stuff. Very short with answers yet filled with much depths. Ghesh Loreena, you just have this way of pulling our heart and soul to you as I want to sit at the pit of your foot and listen to your words.

Btw: The preview of the new songs on the new album is quite a gift for this beautiful Friday morning. How exciting! I can't wait to particular hear the full audio of  "Ages Past, Ages Hence". It is one amazing and well thought out piece esp of our human existence and journey with mother earth. That stuff is deep, esp when she mention that thy trees are witness to our humanly ways. Besides that, the song makes me want to get into some kind of robe, cloak or tunic and head into the woods to be a woodlyn dwaf. Hahaha.

Thanks again Loreena and her team for making this happen. I just wish her meet and greet wasn't so far away in Europe. Sighh. But cheers to being a part of the LM community and getting first dips. Tee hee.

What an album this will be... I am moved and overwhelmed beyond words, speechless. The sound exceeded my every expectation. I am glad to hear that melodic power and uniqueness still present in her music, if not stronger than ever before. Hearing Ages Past, Ages Hence was a longtime wish of mine that came true today and hearing Loreena speaking was pure therapy! I see this album going down as one of her best!

Thank you for this one-of-a-kind experience!

Hi everybody

On May the 17th i take the train to Hamburg Germany to meet Loreena there. Who else?

Happy to have that option! Thank you mark! And hope to see you all there. By the way; it is the shortest way i ever have had 😊

normaly i go overseas to the concerts. I hope Loreena remember me ....

many regards to you all!

Great podcast! The album is sounding great, and it’s interesting that most of the songs don’t seem to lean in one particular cultural direction (as opposed to, say, “The Old Ways”, which is clearly Irish/traditionally Celtic, or “The Gates of Istanbul”, which is clearly Middle Eastern). These songs seem more in the middle. I guess that makes sense, though, since this album is a compilation of unreleased tunes from different eras, instead of a pursuit of a part of Celtic history. I’m definitely glad there’s at least one full-on Middle Eastern piece, though!

I am as Betty curious about France. Any television/radio appearance for the new album ?

Just listened to the podcast... Such a treat!  Thank you! Ages Past, Ages Hence, Manx Ayre are already part of my favourite songs! :-) They sound like they could have been part of the Parallel Dreams album!

It would have been nice if she dropped into my local Barnes and Nobles. That would be something special...as long as my schedule permits it. Besides, there is still a video clip on YouTube of Ms. McKennitt performing at a New York City Barnes and Noble store some years ago and reacting to the pictures taken by saying, "So, this is a soundtrack and a performance." Ho, ho. That makes me chuckle.

Having been listening to Loreena's music since my early teenage years, I can still recall the moment when I received the email knowing "An Ancient Muse" was going to be released, I was happy like a bird... After so many years this new album just touches my soul even more, I got tears in my eyes listening to the podcast. Thank you Loreena and the great musicians for being a part of my life!

Hi, Cocoa. Thanks for joining and sharing your experience with us. I was first exposed to Ms. McKennitt's music when I was a child, but it was "The Mummers' Dance" that hit me in the face. I remember that song so well that at that time, I came to associate it with the occult and the supernatural as well as possibly some fantasy worlds.

Sorry everyone, only the three in store dates mentioned in the email update, for now.

It's okay! I guess we shouldn't be too greedy given that today's podcast should of been enough. Hahaha. One person could only do so much, unless we got some mad ninja skills to do some ninjustis clone of ourselves. Then again Loreena is no Ninja, but instead a fairy. 🤣😂. Let alone just another creature of our human species like all of us or is she? Lol

In that case, we shall wait in hope of a meet and greet if not then the tour. Well at least, me in Minnesota. 😎🤗🤔🧐🤓

I would like Ms. McKennitt to come in and do a mini-performance as well as a CD signing. Pa, it's interesting that you mentioned ninjas and that Ms. McKennitt is more of a fairy than a ninja, but with the idea of ninjas in mind, I propose something else.  With Loreena McKennitt as a comic book singing superhero (something with a name like "The Colonel," "Beaver Celt" "Colonel Beaver," "Beaver Girl" or anything of that nature), she would be defeating a band of Mexican ninjas (Mexicans who are trained to be like Japanese ninjas and eat sushi inside tortillas or sushi out of tortillas), anti-environmentalists and other baddies. Boy, wouldn't that be something else for Quinlan Road?

Sure.

Loreenya, Yes Ninjas and Fairies. In terms of her music and artist aspect, a fairy would be appropriate. But she is definitely a ninja if we were to talk about her civil, social, humanitarian and justice work.

You have a creative and imaginative mind with the whole piece in terms of super heros and bad guys. But then again, race actually has nothing to do with anti-enviormentalist and how someone behave in being a bad person/indecent human being. All humans on the spectrum are capable of it, so perhaps it should be gear toward just defeating bad folks in general regardless of their background and not so much focus on the cultural and race.

It's definitely creative, but we are responsible for our creation and the underling message that comes along with it too.  Hrm. Well, hope your Saturday is a lovely day.  🤔🤗✌

That podcast was absolutely wonderful!  I was at work when I got the email yesterday morning, and I listened to it on my way home!  I think I replayed it at least five times, to be honest...  Loreena did a wonderful job, and I hope this is the first of many more to come!

Loreena, I have loved your music for years, and saw your performance with my Daughter,  Angel, at the Forum in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.   I have read the same book, "The Hidden Life Of Trees", and by the same author, "The Inner Of Animals.  You are a soul sister, and I honor you, and your music.  Cannot wait for "Lost Souls", I pre ordered it over a month ago.  Lastly, what impresses me most about you, is the love, affinity and connection to trees.  I am grateful for you and I honor you as the Goddess you are.

Dear Loreena,

I have pre-ordered Lost Souls.  I so look forward to this new music.  I saw your performance in Santa Rosa, California, a few years ago.  Your voice, beauty and, especially, your intelligence and grace are needed more than ever in this tired world.  The trees need you.  May you be blessed in all that you do.  Matina

Pa, I would like to make a clarification regarding the whole idea of transforming Loreena McKennitt into a superhero and fighting as, in this day and age, there is the concern of portraying minority races as evil or stupid or reinforcing stereotypes involving nationalities and races (which, of course, I am aware of). I want to make clear that I did have in mind having people of all races and ethnic backgrounds be both bad guys and good guys. The other thing is that the idea of the Mexican ninjas had the intention of making the point that ninjas need not to be Japanese. It was also an concept that I myself contrived (circa 2015). Moreover, I intended the most of anti-environmentalist villains to be Caucasian.  What I had in mind also is that in the comic book, Ms. McKennitt has a friend/confidant who is a black nun (from New Jersey) that gives her advice on what to do in her life. Does that help you?

Yes, Semaspa, you were right, but I just throwing some ideas in a way that would not get me into trouble with Quinlan Road. However, the idea of Ms. McKennitt being a superhero sounds pretty entertaining. It might be one of the best things in Canadian pop culture since "The Red Green Show."

You know, Sempesa, there should be one and I remember that started doing a story thread in which every one would contribute a part of the story. For example, I would begin with something like "It was a nice day in Stratford, when Loreena decided to make the journey to Cairo.." blah blah blah and the other person would write "So, she said to her assistant, 'Mark, will you take care of things? I gotta get to catch the plane at the airport in Toronto.'" Then, someone else would pitch in and so on. However, that thread never finished. I am hoping that Colonel McKennitt's own aide-du-champ, Mark, would help us with that one or something.

Hi, everyone!

I write this as I am listening to the podcast. Such a treat! Can't wait to listen to the whole album!

Anyway... I wonder, is there a way to add the podcast into a proper podcast app, such as Overcast? I would really appreciate it, especially on the go...

Thanks in advance for an answer!

Brian

Loreenya and Semaspa, maybe we should create a creative thread instead? Lol and that sound fun with the whole story or everyone adding something piece. And haha this is getting to be a lost soul thread of where it's heading, but oh well.

Btw: The other day I got a notification that my stuff is being shipped. OHhhhhH. I can't wait!!!!! Ahhhh

Pa, I am happy for you. I hope that you are content with the material sent in the mail. As for Ms. McKennitt's podcast, I suggest that Lady Loreena should some funny stories and then, we can give her one with a bunch of jokes. She sure could use a big belly-laugh.

I actually haven't received the package of Loreena set with the lp, cd, bag, and piece of art. I'm super excited waiting for it, I just wish it took faster. Haha. I can't head to hear the full songs. How about you? Did you happen to purchase the new album as well?

And ah I think that would be an entertaining idea and I'm sure she wouldn't mind a good laugh. If anything I would also suggest that Loreena could do a podcast of her answering the LM community member questions. I mean after a thread that's been open to submit questions that is. And she could pick whichever to speak on base on her direction. That would be pretty neat actually. 😍😁☺

Sure thing, Pa. Your idea of podcast pertaining to general questions on the forum sounds like an obvious suggestion. After all, we all have questions for her that have never been answered. It makes me think of the time when Ms. McKennitt had an online chat years ago. It would nice if she took time out of her extremely busy schedule to do it something like that again as it has been a while since she has done it the last time around.

Right! But I clearly missed out on that online chat way back then, but at least I was able to go back and read it. Haha.

We all respect her privacy and personal life so obviously we would be mindful as well with our questions and it is still up to her comfort and discretion. So a podcast for her community members questions and curiosity? Lol.

So hey Mark? Put it in the books? Maybe? Or simply just bring it up that we asked? It's worth a try. Haha. 🤗😁
